Margot Robbie is the talk of the town. After her latest stint in the role of Harley Quinn in the movie The Suicide Squad, she is gaining popularity by the minute. With movies like Focus, Z for Zachariah and The Wolf of Wall Street under her belt amongst others, she is definitely one of the hot and happening actresses in Hollywood at the moment. Drop dead gorgeous and charming as she is; she brightens up every scene in every movie that she makes an appearance in! Margot Robbie is undoubtedly one of the beautiful A-listers in the making and her performances in films like Suicide Squad, and Wolf of Wall Street are proof enough! Let’s talk about some impressive, interesting facts about this Australian actress who got her big break early and is seemingly on an unstoppable spree since then.

1. Margot Robbie did not always have an acting career in mind, and it was when she was 17 years old that she first got into an acting stint. Before that, she was actually juggling three different jobs to sustain her family.

2. Her role as Donna Freedman on the popular Australian television series ‘Neighbours’ was a result of a cold call to the casting director. While she was supposed to play a small guest role, she actually ended up bagging one of the main characters. With a term spanning from 2008 – 2014, Robbie has acted in over 300 episodes as the free-spirited Donna.

3. After she moved to Los Angeles, the first role she bagged was in a show called Pan Am along with Christina Ricci. Unluckily, the show got canceled. Margot was just 21 years old then.

4. She kickstarted her acting career in Hollywood starring alongside Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams in the 2013 movie ‘About Time’. Directed by Richard Curtis, this movie was well-received by the audience and got quite good ratings. Great way to start off a career isn’t it?

5. Margot Robbie claims she is more of a tomboy. And irrespective of how elegant and gorgeous she looks otherwise, her comfort clothes are jeans and a pair of sneakers.

8. Tom and Margot are both super fans of the Rangers. Margot Robbie stated that she was always drawn to ice-hockey but never got a chance to play back in Australia, where she played a lot of field hockey. After she moved to America, she even joined a team! Being a New Yorker, Rangers was her obvious favorite according to her.

9. She also owns a production house along with Tom and two of their friends. Tom’s friend, Josey McNamara and Margot’s bestie Sophia Kerr along with the couple run a production house called LuckyChap. Margot said that the motive of the production house is to go through with the projects that really excite her. “I, Tonya” – a biopic on Tonya Harding starring Margot herself is under the production of LuckyChap Entertainment as of now.


10. Margot Robbie was still not very popular when she bagged the role of Naomi in The Wolf of Wall Street. It was this movie that formed the base for Margot in Hollywood and catapulted her career in acting.

11. There is a scene in the movie where Margot appears completely naked in front of Leonardo DiCaprio. Originally, the script had the character appear wearing a robe. Robbie thought it would seem more realistic for the character to appear buck naked! So, basically, this was her idea – anyone complaining?

12. It is said that while filming the sex scene with Leo for the movie, she was so nervous, that Margot drank three tequila shots early in the morning at 9 am.

13. While auditioning for the role of Naomi, to give her best and also to stand out amidst other competitors, she literally slapped Leo hard across the face. She did so while enacting the fighting scene in the movie to make it seem better. Leo liked her improv and asked her to do it again and at the end of the day, she did bag the role.

14. Margot Robbie’s latest feather in the cap is her role of Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’. Did you know Margot went around tattooing “SKWAD” on almost all cast members? Jared Leto and Will Smith also star in this movie.

15. This is not the first time she has acted alongside popular actor Will Smith. They both appeared as the lead pair in the movie “Focus”.

17. Did you know Margot’s parents disliked seeing her nude in the movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’? It might be a Leo-starred blockbuster which skyrocketed Robbie’s career in Hollywood! But she rejected even the Playboy magazine because in her words she has “put her family through enough.”

18. She has had a healthy ongoing competition with Emma Stone! They both have auditioned for a number of same roles and their competition includes movies like ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ and ‘Birdman’.
